SOCIAL'LIGHT IN LONDON. (Sun Special.) LONDON, Thursday. It is an odd and pleasant thing that, despite the Anglo-Russian coolness, Katia Kvassin, the beautiful daughter of the late Soviet Charge d'Affair*, has become one of the darlings of English society, says the Daily News.
Her success is both a romance of modem social life and a tribute to tho democracy of the British aristocracy. Katia Krassin is the second daughter and professes no political views. Full : of joie de vivrc, she is welcomed at Liberal and Conservative club dinners, and at the most exclusive functions .and ■. dances.
Although people at first looked askance at the daughter of a notorious "Red," bold enough to enter one of the oldest of the English Universities, Katia soon broke down their prejudices, and iy now the foremost "undorgraduette" of Cambridge an;d a leading light in University society and fashions.
"I am an incurable optimist," she says. "I have evolved my own philosophy". A Russian proverb says, 'Put your trust in God, but don't make mistakes yourself "
