STOCK EXCHANGE DERBY.

MILLION TICKETS. LONDON, Tuesday. When the offices of the organisers of tho Stock Exchange Derby sweep closed, the number of tickets issued was within a hundred of 800,000. The demand was so great that the staff was doubled, and the organisers decided to limit the issue to 1,000,000, a large portion of the proceeds of which will go •to charity. The sweep is thus the largest in the world. The organisers have not decided whether to split the sweep into two sections, or to double last year's prizes. The sweep has shown a remarkable growth. It was started in 1902, and was then worth only £IOO. Last year £500,000 was subscribed, which was double the amount of the previous year.
