VEN. BEDE’S BAZAAR.

A SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION. , The bazaar held in the Druids ’ Hall on Friday and Saturday by the ladies of Ven. Bede’s Anglican Church was opened by Rev. Mr Walton, of Foxton. The .stalls wore all well-laden with goods, with' the result that good business was done, the bazaar proving quite a success. On Friday evening a dance was held, for which Mr and Mrs Parcel! supplied the music. The dance was such a success that it was intended to hold another on Saturday evening; but it was cancelled as a mark of respect to the late Mr H. E. Tremewan and the late Mr J. C.'Better.

The following were the stallholders: Produce: Mesdames Richardson and Jamieson;, plain Avork: Mesdames Picard and Wilson; fancy work: Miss Camp and Mrs H. Easton; sweets: Mrs Parcell; tearooms: Mesdames Farnell, Bass, Sn ailing and Clifford-Jones. During the progress of the bazaar several competitions Avere held,' the results being ag follows: —Ham, Y. McEwe'n; sucking pig, Mrs Knowles; cigarettes, A. L. Milner; string of pearls, C. Shailer; velvet cushion, P. Morse; pink cushion. Mrs C. Spoil’s; breakfast, A. Robinson; Belgian hare, Bruce Jones; iced cake, Miss E. J. Brady; •sheep, P. J. Cole; bouquet, Mrs 11. Easton.
