"HANGMAN'S HOUSE" ON SATURDAY.
Magnificent settings, excellent direction, fine photography and splendid acting contribute to make ''Hangman's House," Fox Films production directed by John Ford, one of the most intensely interesting photoplays screened here in the past twelve months. This story, written by Donn Byrne, is Irijsh from beginning to end and boasts one of the finest casts over assembled, for picture purposes. June Collyer, who distinguished herself in "Four Sons,?' has the leading feminine role opposite Larry Kent, while Victor McLaglen has the featured role of Citizen Hogan. Earle Foxe and Hobart Bosworth also have prominent parts. Ford, who has an uncanny aptitude for revealing character in celluloid, has given the screen a finer version of '' Hangman's House'' than the author himself could have hoped to give. His actors live, move and have their being in the weird old house known as the 'home of "Jimy the Hangman."
"THE GOOD-BYE KISS/' ■One of the spectacular highlights of Mack Sennett's nine-reel feature com-edy-romance, "The Good-bye Kiss," which is to be screened on Monday, is an unusual photographic feat, showing a burning airplane falling from the sky and crashing into the.heart of a city below. Different from, any previous attempt of this kind, it is said, the scene is taken from the air. The plane is show.ii 'bursting into flame, and its downward course is followed by the camera in a vertical position. The flames diminish rapidly in size as the plane dives earthward, and the final flash of light, when 'the plane crashes, reveals in an outline of shadows the buildings and spires of the city. The effect thus ! achieved is astonishiug and breathtaking-
