ANGLICAN SUNDAY SCHOOL PICNIC.

The pieni-i of the Shannon Anglican and Mangaore Sunday Schools was held in the Vicarage Grounds on Sat " urday last under ideal weather conditions. Over one hundred children were present and a good percentage of par ents came along in the afternoon foi 'the prizegiving. The morning was spent in games. ' During the afternoon races were indulged in, the results oi which afe given below. The children for ,the cost of the prizes and pienic, which was very readily re sponded to by the residents. Hearty shanks are extended to all supporter* for the ready response given, especially in view of so many recent claim* being made upon them; also to the teachers and other adults who helped .in giving the (children their aunuai Sunday School picnic. addressed for a short interval the crowd of children of both Sunday Schools and .the adults present, stress being laid upon regular attendance and and effort being made to show to those present how one Sunday's absence meant a loss of marks/ which were very hard to.caich up. Illustrated Prayer and Hymn Bood: Mary Drake, Maureen King, Hany Vcnle, Claudie Picard, Lloyd Small, William Ellwood, Betty Eagle. Tea was served at 5 o'clock and the very happy event, one of the most successful picnics the Anglican Sunday Schools hae held, concluded at 5.30, when each child received -sweets as ■ they- passed out of the gate, homeward bound. Judging from the cheery smiles a 3 the children left they alllooked well contented with their picnic of 1929.
