BUTTER EXHIBITS AT SHOW.
FACTORIES SEEK SOLUTION.
That New Zealand suffers a great loss annually through the showing of butter and cheese at A. and P. Shovya was an opinion ventured at yesterday's meeting of the Manawatu and West Coast Dairy Companies Association by the chairman, Mr S. A. of Levin, in which all members present concurred. In speaking on the matter, Mr Broadbelt stated that with so many shows the cost to the. dairy industry in New Zealand could well be imagined to run into thousands. There wa3 no doubt that butter and cheese which had been under show exhibition for any time deteriorated, and ,the butter could subsequently be sold only to pastrycooks at a cheap rate. He suggested that it be a recommendation to A. and P. Associations, and to Factory Managers Association tkat; the size of exhibits be cut in half, this would.also enable factories to exhibit at more shows than at present. Show-' ing butter was not a profitable business. On the motion of Mr Dermer, it was decided to write the Managers' Asso* ciation aaking for an opinion.
