HAULAGE OF BOULDERS OBVIATED.

In his report to the Horowhenua County Council on Saturday, the Engineer (Mr Brewster) suggested that they dispose of the Hadfield crusher, Deela disc chipping machine, 42 and 25 h.p. electric motors and switch gear for same. He was of opinion that it would be more economical to use the portable crashers, a 3 practically the whole of the metal supplies would have lo come from river beds and the smaller machines could, without very heavy transport charges, be taken to different parts of the County where boulders exist, thereby saving the cost of long haulage of boulders to the crusher, which is very expensive. In recommending the disposal of Jthe above plant, the Engineer stated he was of opinion that the Council would have no further use for the machines.
