OTAKI v. PHOENIX.
Phoenix met Otaki at Levin on Saturday and suffered a three-point loss at the hands of the visitors,in;a?match Which was notewcrthy mainly on account of. the small scoring by the Phoenix team, - who could only compile 26 in each innings. Otaki scored 84 in their strike/ to which S. Simcox 17, A. Flutey 13, and P.. Sim cox : 11, were the only doublefigure contributors. As. could be expected, most of thi Otaki bowlers came out with very good averages. Sievers, with 8 wicke.Hs for 13 runs, and A. Flutey, with 6 for 15, doing the ; most damage. WEBAROA v. PARAPARATJMU.
The match between Weraroa and Paraparaumu was played on the grounds of the latter club, and result ed In a win for the visiting team by 73 runs on the first innings. Had there been time for Weraroa to open a-sec-ond innings they would probably hav? had a more substantial victory to their credit, a 3 their score was only five runs short of that required for a threepoint win. The home side "batted first and made 31, the only player to reach double figures being T. White, with 12. Weraroa's inniings tproduceld (104, to which Roe contributed 46 and Bennett 23. Hoe's*score included four sixes and two fours, 'and Bennett was responsible for two sixes and a four. Paraparaumu in their second innings compiled 77, the piincipal scorers being Thompson 22-and C. Reeve 12. Bennett had a day out with the ball, taking six wickets for 12 runs and six for '34. In the second innings Bull captured three for four.
