MAORILAND THEATRE.

“THE SKY SKIDDER.” Al Wilson, conceded the . screen’s most daring air. ace, comes to.the local Theatie on Wednesday in “The Sky Skidder,” bis latest starring picture for Universal, and promises to furnish thrills such as have never before been filmed.

Right. from the opening of the picture the spectator is treated to a thrill, a runaway motor car, and its occupants rescued from certain death by the hazardous but successful attempt of an aviator to fly his plane low. enough to allow him. to .lower a rope ladder and so transfer the careering car’s occupants to the plane. Another thrilling sequence in the picture is the air race in which Wilson flies a monoplane. It is claimed" that in this picture, it is the first, time ‘‘stunting” has been attempted with a monoplane, and it is obvious to the spectator that “stunts” on a monoplane present more difficulties and risk than those cn the usual two-winged machines.

“SEVENTH HEAVEN.” -There is something new under the, sun and that is the portrayal of the role of Diane by Janet Gavnor in Fox Films-version of “Seventh Heaven,”, which will lie screened on Friday. The flower-like --harm of this young actress- is something new, appealingly refreshing and spiritually beautiful; Words cannot describe the wiusomeiie&s of her tej.r dimmed-smile, her happy laugh or. the -tie.-mer in which she shows her spiritual growth from a cringing street waif to a woman fearless in the face of , appalling danger and who meets the worst that life threatens to offer unflinchingly.

■Charles Farrell,, who also rises to stardom with his performance in the role of Chico, that “remarkable fellow,” is equally appealing with his stalwart manhood and his carefree way of leading Diane from the gutter up" the long winding flights of stairs to his heaven in a garret beneath the stars.

Space docs not permit an outline of the story, except to says, that for sheer simplicity and at the same tremendous interest, it, has probably never before been equalled on the screen.
