WOODVILLE RACES TOMORROW.

GOOD FIELDS IN ALL EVENTS. THE ACCEPTANCES REVIEWED. (By 4 'Silken Rein.”) The next facing fixture of interest to local enthusiasts will be the Woodville Jockey Club’s autumn meeting which will open to-morrow and conclude on Thursday. From a numerical point of victor the club have been well treated in respect of acceptances and with runners like Oratrix and Commendation due to appear in the two principal events the class is particularly good for a meeting of this kind. Local patrons are well provided for with convenient train arrangements and it is understood that quite a number will make the journey. The first event, the Oringi HUrdles, is due to start at or about 11.45 a.m. Following is the programme: —

Two good performers in *Novar and Locarno are to meet in the opening event, but „ with opposition coming from Red Bank, Panorama, Deluge, Lin Arlington and Roburant, the top weights will be kept busy. Still their form is good and the public will be inclined to leave it to — Locarno, Novar.' MAIDEN STAKES, 6 furlongs. Mint Belle Spearmain Austerity Agreeable Black Acre Tapestry Imperial Fame Primax Ahu Mai Kinross , Ali Baba Marica Slut Silk Snowshoe Bon Acre Malahat Mothplane Kiriana There is a little unknown quality in this field that may surprise.*" Form has been shown by Bon Acre, Shot Silk, Mothplane, Kinross, Marica, Snowshoe and Kiriana. Kinross, who ran Grand Acre to half a length at last Woodville meeting, reads good, and the favoured pair will probably be— Kinross, Marica.

Oratrix is certainly entitled to most respect in the principal event. She may probably need the race, however, as she has not had an outing since ( her third to Vertigern and Concentrate who dead-heated in the * Grandstand Handicap at Auckland summer meeting. Lameness has been the cause of her non-appearance in recent races. Doree’s recent form is just near enough to make him dangerous. Blimp is one that will go well at Woodville, and the outing at Wanganui will tune her up. Anolo has form good enough for support, while Comical has a good record in that district. Lady Limond has not won many friends this season, but she is due any time now. Kilmezzo would win at a mile, but is finproving over a distance. Nucleus, in the best mood would be hard to beat while Briar Root is likely to be troubled . with the distance. Courageous is a likely lightweight, while the veteran Imperial Spark, is dangerous on, reeent form and he has been consistent. If Oratrix is absent: the fancied pair will be- — Blimp, Anolo.

This event will puzzle, speculators, and what draws the rails will probably be best supported. A pair showing form are — White Ringlet, Pateaxoa.

The fact that Commendation is to put in an * appearance in this event will prove a big draw. If she behaves well at the barrier and gets anything like a decent run Comendatior. should win, although perhaps not yet in the best racing condition. Ridgemount is now at the top of his form and recorded an impressive win at Taranaki. High Disdain is a good sort and is going to be a troublesome one in this event. Arrow Lad is an honest one who should be prominent, while Miss Pat will relish the lighter weight. Merry Mint will be in need of the race. Tanagra will be best supported of the *others. The pair to fully extend Commendation are— High Disdain, Arrow Lad.

Geeral Assembly, My Own, Royal Parade, and Hot Springs will be accorded most support in the youngsters race, and of these, performances point favourably to — Royal Parade, Hot Springs. VICTORIA HANDICAP, 1 mile and

A good field in this even bears a fairly open aspect. Disrank and Royal Black are likely outsiders, but it is hard to see past the form of — Mister Gamp, t Billion. PRESIDENT’S HANDICAP, 7

The concluding event wil. thin down' a little, but will still offer plenty of speculation. The Swell, Queen’s Choice, and Rowley will be remembered from their form at Pahiatua, but it is doubtful if they are good enough to beat— Gold Cure, Moutoa Treasury.
