CROQUET MATCH.

NICHOLSON MALLETS CAJtEIED Orr BY OTAKI. A match for the Nicholsoii Mallets was played on the Levin Croquet Club's lawn yesterday afternoon, in favourable weather. The holders, ids Walker and Miss Dunn, of Levin, had received a challenge from Mrs Evans and the Eev. Isaacson, of the Otaki Municipal Club. An interesting game took place, which resulted in a win for the visiting players by 26 points to 18. There was a large attendance on the grounds, among those present being visitors from Palmerstpn,. Manakau, Otaki and Hutt. The club provided an attractive afternoon tea, and altogether a very enjoyable time was spent. The next match for the Mallets has not yet been arranged, but under the conditions attaching to them any two players from the Levin, Manakau or two Otaki Clubs may put in a challenge. , '
