UNIDENTIFIED BODY.
POUND AT SEATOTJN. As the tide was coming in about 9 o 'clock yesterday morning, the body of a man was discovered on the boulders I on the foreshore at Seatoun, about 50 I yards on the south side of the wharf. The police were informed, and the body was removed by Constable Henry to the City Morgue.. The body, which up' to last evening jhad not been identified, was that of a iman of from 60 to 65 years of age, •of medium build; height about 5.6 J. with grey moustache, and a small tuft of hair on the bottom lip. The top of the head was bald, and the face was round. He was wearing a bluish heather : mixture, double-breasted suit in new condition, with size 15£ celluloid collar, thin black tie, light size 7 boots, with Tubber heels, and bTown sox. Anyone possessing information which will lead to the identification of the body should communicate with the Inspector of Police. The deceased appeared to be a man in comfortable circumstances. In his pockets were found some keys, and a purse containing a fairly considerable, sum of money. He also wore a silver watch with fancy gold hands. The place where the fatality occurred is not protected by a handrail, and the police theory is that deceased possibly accidentally stepped over the side of the promenade, and stunned himself on the boulders in his fall, the tide coming in and overwhelming his as he lay unconscious. An inquest will be held.
