A child of three years was the victim of a mean theft in Auckland on Friday afternoon. While hcv mother Avas posting a letter, the child Avas standing by her side, and on the way doAvn the post office steps the mother asked her Avhat had happened to he: purse. "I gave it to the lady who said '"'Give me the purse, dear," tin child replied. The mother said the purse war; a Christmas gift to the girl and contained only a few coppers. "It is the meanest theft I have-ever heard .of, and I Avould willingly pay pounds to discover the pc'rpetrator," she added.
