ON LEVIN RACECOURSE TO-MOR-ROW AND WEDNESDAY.
INDICATIONS OF A SUCCESSFUL AND INTERESTING EXHIBITION.
The catalogue for the annual Show of the Horowhenua A. and P. Association opening on the Levin. Racecourse " to-day, has been published and it reveals a very satisfactory position, as the entries total 830, or SU more than last year. All the classes are well filled except in the pig section, in which the entries have dropped back to the extent of 16. Competitions, 'horses and .sheep show a considerable advance, while cattle and dogs are almost on a par with the previous Show. The following table gives the figures for the two years:—
The entries come from far and wide. In the ring contests Levin is well represented, but there will be competitors a.ls-0 from Koputaroa, Weraroa, Ohau, Manakau, Otaki, Te Hero, Waihoauga, Foxton, Palmerston, Kakariki, Ualcom.be, Rongotea, Ohingaiti, and Pahiatua.
Many well-known breeders will have exhibits in the, stock sections, among them being Mr R. L. Horn- (Ohau), Mrs I. W. Spiers (Levin), Mr S. Bowkor (Ihakara), Mr H, J. Lancaster (Levin), Mr R. W. Evans (Weraroa) and Messrs L. and J. Griffiths (Weraroa), in the Jersey cattle classes. Messrs Atkins Bros. (Manakau) and Webb Bros. (Koputaroa) are ■ strong supporters of the Ayrshire division. Tlit Friesians will include a comprehensive group from the Central Development Farm, which will also show a number of Red Polls; while the Milking Shorthorns will be made up of entries from Messrs R. V. Brown, W. J. Slack and others, district.
The sheep classes have drawn entries from Levin, Weraroa, Koputaroa, Manakau, Otaki, Waikanae, Paekakariki, Shannon, and Longburn. The best filled division's are the Romneys and Southdowns, with 58 and 57 entries respectively. The pig entries are all from owners in the are divided among the classes as follows: —Berkshires, 15; Tamworths, 6; Large Whites, 10; Large Blacks, 6; crossbreds, 4; porkers and baconers, 4. In the Dog Show there are many outside entries, notably from Wellington and its neighbourhood. The breeds supported are whippets, Irish setters,' cocker spaniels (black arid coloured), retrievers, Border collies, working sheep-dogs, Alsatians,, fox-terriers (smooth and wire-haired), Cavin terriers, Airedales, Pomeranians (sable and black), Pekingese ami bulldogs.

Following is the time-table for the second day of the Show: — 9.30 a.m. —Judging Cobs, and Hacks. 11.15 a.m.—Sheep Dog Trial. 11.45 a.m. —Farmers' Trotting Race. 12 Noon.—Pair Jumping Competition. (Luncheon.) ' 1 p.m.—Jumping (Steeplechase Style). 2.0 p.m.—Grand Parade. 2.30 p.m.—District Jumping Compe-
tition. 3.0 p.m.—Steer Riding. 3.45 p.m. —Hunters' Competition (open). 4.15 p.m. —Pony Race. 4.30 p.m. —Musical Chairs. 4.45 pm —Apple Race 5.0 p.m.—Motor Car Driving Competition. 5.15 p.m.—Motor Car Potato Race.
Particulars of /the Postal Department's "Householder" circular delivery are given in a pamphlet published by the Department, a copy of which we have reeoived by courtesy of the Postmaster, Mr J. D. O'Connor. It gives in detail the number of. householders —actually the inhabited houses revved by the Post Office in every city, town and small centre in New land. Thus the total number of householders in the Dominion is 318,262. The number in Levin is 892, and in Weraroa 60. Other neighbouring centres are as follow:—Foxton 550, Koputaroa 65, Manakau 12,0, Ohau 130, Shannon 350, Tok.omaru 120, Otaki 300, Otaki Beach 30, Otaki Eailway 126, Packakariki 130, P/a,T|aparaumu 160, Parapaiaumu Beach 25, Reikorang: 40, Te Horo 120, Waikanae 141.—Levin Chronicle.
