ESCAPADES OF A BOY

The escapades of Andrew Philip Foot (16), a lift-boy, were recounted at London Sessions when, he was sent to Borstal for three years on a charge of being on enclosed premises. Detective Barnes said that Foot was sent to the training ship Exmouth in 1923 for non-attendance at school. Afterwards he was found work at a tobacconist’s in Burlington Arcade but was dismissed for smoking cigars. Early this year he stole some jewellery from his father’s house and pawned it. He went to Maidstone, where he broke into two houses and stole jewellery, for which lie was bound over. A situation was found for him at Cobhani, Surrey, but he was lazy and was told to go. He went away on a bicycle belonging to another employee and abandoned it at Walworth.
