FIRES AT FOXTON.
Two outbreaks of fire? occurred at Foxton on Wednesday. The first, ocean ing ;n the early hours of the morning, was responsible for the destruction of a four-roomed house owned by Mr G. A. Hobbs, situated in No. 1 line. The house was unoccupied at the time and the cause of the fire is unknown. The. insurances arc not available. At about 7.30 o’clock in-the evening a fire was discovered in the residence of Air Alex. Ross, Purcell Street. The house was unoccupied at the time. Tim brigade arrived promptly, but the fire had been extinguished in the meantime. The outbreak occurred in the ceiling of the sitting room, which, was badly damaged. The 'outbreak vgs probably due to the fusing of tin electric light wires.
