THE SHANNON PUNT.

At Friday's meting of the Manawatu County Council, the Public Works Department advised that as the new Shannon bridge was now open, 'the subsidy on the maintenance of the punt and also on the length of road between the punt and the northern end of the road to the bridge was discontinued.
