LEVIN CLUB’S DISTRICT COMPETITION.

LOCAL PLAYERS CONTEST FINAL OP LADIES’ DOUBLES.

SHANNON SUCCESSFUL IN MEN’S and combined doubles.

Much success attended the district handicap tournament organised by the Levin Tennis Club and held on then courts on Saturday.., Entries wore received from the Levin, Wesley, Manakau, Shannon and Otaki Clubs, and t c play was generally of an interesting oclorf The public were well repiosented, and an enjoyable time was spent at er' noon tea tooing-provided and a clock golf competition held, which u a,_ ly Dr. Thompson. , T ‘The ladies’ doubles were won by hf vin representatives, Mrs Levi nett and Miss Bevan, who defeated Misses Tanner and O’Donnell, also of, Leviii 0L -• In the other two competitions Shannon players were successful m the finals: In the men’s doubles Wyatt Mabe beat Hunter and Morrah, of 6—l: and in the combined double, Miss M.
