ALMOST HUMAN MINDS.
WONDERFUL PEFORMING COCKATOOS. Nearly everybody knows that coeka- • toos are clever birds, and in New Zealand there probably are many. such birds which talk in a manner quite, remarkable. However all will be eclipsed by Harmston’s Performing Cockatoo Comedians. The Cockatoos are almost human in their intelligence and capabilities. One bird answers any questions from the audience such as ringing any required number on a bell, or telling the time from a watch, or doing little sums. Others play tunes on bells and chimes, and the cockatoo acrobat would make any circus clown jealous with his feats. Each bird..has his understudy who can do any of the tricks without going batik on to his own part. “Cockatoos are the easiest creatures in the world to-train” explains Miss Harmston who has the credit for their splendid performances. “After a little training they never forget what they learned, and it is only a matter of impressing it on them in the first instance. They enjoy performing too.” “The Worleys Eentertainers”' at present touringahe world, who will appear at. the Maoriland Theatre on Thursday next will present these marvellous Cockatoo Comedians, supported by an outstanding programme of vaudtville and pictures. Manolli who is assisted by Mack, may well claim to be the world’s cleverest juggler, whilst .lean MacDonald will be seen in a delightful living marionette act. Including in the bill is Evelyn May, a petite danseuse of outstanding merit , and charm. Prices 2s and Is 6d. Children Is.
