TO KEEP JAM
In houses wliere there is not enough dry storage room or where there are too many mice, it is a very good plan to keep jam in the same kind of bottles as are used for bottling fruits and vegetables. Those which arc fastened • on the vacuum system are really the best because any fermentation which takes place immediately loosens the cover, whereas the screw-top bottles are likely to burst under similar conditions, or to go slightly bad before anyone realises it.
