MAORILAND THEATRE.

SATURDAY —TOM MIX IN “ARIZONA WILDCAT.”

Tom Mix gives more than his usual generous portions of hard riding and daredevil stunts in “The Arizona Wildcat,” which will be shown at the Maoriland Theatre on Saturday. In this story of a gang of Eastern Society crooks who come to clean out the westerners at a famous California summer resort, there is unusual interest. One reason for this, no doubt, is, that it was written especially to fit the great cowboy by a master of the craft. Atiela' Rogers St. Johns, well known author of many “best sellers.” Tom is given every opportunity, of which he makes the most, to show what fine horsemanship is. Climb ng to the roof of a building up flights of stairs on Tony is one of them; rescuing the beautiful Dorothy Sebastian from the edge of a waterfall is another; and these are only two of. many breathtaking stunts performed by Tom and his horse. This picture is the kind of entertainment that has made Tom the best, longest liked of all movie stars. It is clean, Avholesome, bristling with situations that send the pulse leaping, sparkling with humor, and above all clean and wholesome. Just the kind of picture that the whole family can enjoy together. Cissy Fitzgerald is in the humorous role of the aunt to Miss Sebastian.

MONDAY—“THE WAGON SHOW,” WI(TH KEN MAYNARD. ’ ’

“’The Wagon Show,” a western pic ture with a circus background, a story combining the thrills, romance, daring stunts and trick riding of the two, is Ken Maynard's latest feature. This unusual departure from the regular western picture fulfills ’a long standing ambition of Maynard, for he spent many years as premier stunt rider with. Baruum and Bailey, Ringling Brothers’ circuses, and over since he made his entry into pictures he has wanted to make one dealing with the circus and its people. “The Wagon Show” is the result, and so far has it surpassed expectations that it has been released as a Ken Maynard special. The story has not been taken from any novel or published story, but was written expressly. for Maynard, and, depicts a small one-ring circus travelling •through Montana and Wyoming during the settlers' days. It deals not only with the romantic glamour that always accompanies a tent show, but with the struggles and trials these people of the sawdust trail endured. The entire plot has been packed with the daring and thrilling stunts for which Ken has become world-famous. The. entire story has been" built upc-n a solid foundation of fact and cariics a real surprise ending. . J ■ .
