WHEELS FOR THE ELEVEN AGES OF MAN
A novel display showing how a twentieth-century human being travels on eleven different -sorts 'of tyres /between the cradle, and the-grave, was staged in a window of the Birmingham depot of the Dunlop organisation. There was the perambulator of early infancy and then tho baby tricycle; at six came the fairy cycle; at 15 / the cycle; young- eighteen’s motor - cycle was displaced by a 7 h.p. car some two years later, and followed by an aeroplane at 25; a 12 h.p. at 30 and 30 at 50. The last .two stages of-pneu-matic? were attached to a bath chair at ninety and the centenarian«was rewarded with a motor hearse.
