POWER BOARD OPERATIONS.

REPORT BY THE ENGINEER. At the meeting of the Horowlienua Power Board on Tuesday, the Engineer (Mr J. A. Smith) reported as follows on work carried out since the last meeting:— Levin Depot.—During the period 34 service lines have been run, extra phases run on five existing service lines, ancl one temporary service line put in. Sixty-two poles were carted, fitted and erected and 752 chains of L.T. wire run. One street lamp was erected. One outdoor sub-station has been built and placed into commission.

Swamp Bond, Te Iloro line, and Seluvass Road line have been completed, and placed into commission. •. An extension of the L.T. at Tokomaru was made on existing poles to link up GcJjwass Road line. L.T. has been extended. L.T. was extended near the Moiitoa 'Public Hall to pick up a milking shed. An extra outdoor sub-station, has been' built and L.T. run south of Te Horo. The Otaki railway station was connected to our supply on November Bth: 34 k.w. lighting. Transformers have been changed in Tokomaru Town ship, and Ellison’s, Reikorangi. Three transformers have been reconditioned. Three trucks of 24 poles have been offloaded' and stacked.

Shannon Depot. —The attendants have run six new service lines and extra phases on one existing service, also erected two poles; have assisted Levin gang on Sclnvass Road and Tokomaru L.T; have patrolled lines during floods, cut trees, attended to consumers, etc., and to main sub-station.

Fifty-two single-phase meters have been tested and 12 repaired and tested. Five ranges have been dried out, tested, and delivered to consumers.
