JACKIE CGOGAN’S LATEST. In the latter part of the last century almost all armies carried bugle boys on their personnel, and these youngsters, frequently mere children, often went into action with the veterans, sometimes dying for the colours .with the bravest. At this time bugl§, boys were likewise enrolled in the regiments that prftrolled and fought in the India-a country of Canada and America; and it is as a bugle boy attached to a frontier post, in the days when Red men carried death and terror into peaceful settlements .that Jackie Coogan makes a welcome reappearance in “The Bugle Call” at the Maoriland Theatre on Saturday. Beautiful Claire Windsor heads a powerful east of supporting players as Jackie’s stepmother. Though she finds her stepson unapproachable at first, her courage during a sudden raid by hostile red men combine with her tenderness and ravishing beauty to win the boy’s love. An intense human-interest story ifc reinforced with thrills, comedy, romance, and a crashing climax in which Redskins and Regulars .stage a realistic battle.

“STEEL PREFERRED ” One of the most delightful pictures shown in many months is “Steel•. Preferred,” which will be the big feature at the local theatre on Monday. Although the theme is dramatic, there is an abundance of relish able comedy. The featured players are Vera Reynolds, Wntiam Bold and Charlie Murray. The story is thrilling and appealing.
