MOTORS MUCH IN DEMAND. Reporting to the Horowhenua Power Board on Tuesday, the Engineer (Mr J. A. Smith) stated that, since meeting, 22 .applications from new consumers and 27 applications for extensions to existing installations had been received, comprising eight ranges, five water-heaters, three milking motors, five industrial motors, and four pumping motors. Twentyfive new consumers and 25 extensions had been connected, including eight ranges, 12 waiter heaters, eight milking <• and separating motors, and six industrial motorß, making a total of 134.655 k.w. connect-' ed during the period. The Chairman (Mr G. A. Monk) re* marked that the applications from new. consumers, and for extensions, were very satisfactory. It might have been expected that, month by ; month, a \ slight falling-off would be noticeable, but this month there had been a slight increase in the demand for electricity.
