CROQUET.
In the first of the inter-club games - for the points banner which was played at Palmerston North on Thursday, a team consisting of Mesdames Mason, Franks, Snelling, Roach, Harding, and Picard defeated Northern . at- Terrace End by 96 points to 86. The local team state they were most hospitably treated, cars meeting them at the station, -. morning tea being served on arrival ' at the green. The outing was thoroughly- enjoyed by all:
