CORNERING
Wheu making a left turn many drivers swing out into the middle of the 'rbad, either, before or when taking a ibend. They should not, and would ,*be found liable if an accident occurred, 'in that they were not on their owa ;side of the road. Similarly, some drivers making a right-hand turn into a cross-road invariably commence the |turn as. soon as, or even before, they reach the cross-road. As obviously this will take them across the direction of two other lines of traffic before they can reaeh their own side again, the practice is wrong. The driver should keep straight on until in line with the far side of the cross-road, and then Swing into the traffic li»e. ': These things are better understood dnd learned in city and town driving than in the country, but many motorists who are careful and punctilious in streets, relax and offend when they reach the country.
