THE LAND AND INCOME TAX (ANNUAL) ACT, 1928. LAND TAX PAYABLE. DY Order in Council, made and issued by His Excellency the GovernorGeneral in Council on the 10th day of October, 1928, under the authority of the above Act, it was determined that the duty by way of land-tax leviable under the said Act should bs paid in one sum on WEDNESDAY, the 7th day of November, 1928* at the office of the Commissioner of Taxes, Government Buildings, Wellington; and, in accord-, ance with such Order in Council, I hereby give notice that the said duty will be payable accordingly. Additional tax will accrue if the tax is not paid on or before 28th November, 1928. The liability to pay is not suspended by any objection. The tax should be paid on or before the prescribed date, other-wise the additional percentage accrues: any overpayment will be adjusted by refund. The demands will be. posted from the office, of the Commissioner of Taxes on or about 31st October, 1928. TRUEMAN, Returning Officer for ' the Electoral District of Man'awatu, do hereby give notice that, by virtue of a writ hearing date the Nineteenth day of October, 1928, under the hand of the Clerk of the Writs,, an election will be held for the return of a qualified person to serve as member for the said district, and that the latest hour for receiving, nominations of candidates will be noon on the 29th day of October, 1928, and that the pofl, if necessary, will be taken at the several polling-places of the said district on the 14th day of November, 1928.
