(Sun Special.) N.EW YORK, October 2. The New' York "World" quotes amazing details of the flooding of the, ■nails in the southern States with scurrilous libels /against- the Democratic candidate for the Presidency, Governor Al. Smith, and his religion. Thousands of pamphlets charge Smith with being an habitual drunkard. They say that his secretary is a negress, and there is a photo extant showing him dancing with a coloured woman. They also say that, if elected,. Smith will bring the Pope to America aboard a battleship, and install him in Washington. Alsx>, they -say that Smith *vill decree that all marriages in the United States must be performed by Roman Catholic priests, and that Smith took the oath to war secretly and openly against all heretics, Protestants, and Masons.
