VALUE OF WATER DRINKING
How many people are responsible for simple sins against beauty! One of the most important is the failure to drink sufficient water. Most people do not realise the value of water, They drink tea. coffee, and all forms of alcohol, but the simple beverage of Nature goes untouched, writes, a woman doctor in the London "Daily Telegraph," The human system requires about three and a-half to five pints of fluid per day. When such a fact is stated most people raise their hands in holy horror.- This is nevertheless true. It is not possible for any skin to be beautiful unless the system is in good working order. Towards such an attainment water helps by flushing the internal organs. Further, it helps the action of the - skin through the excretion of perspiration, particularly in hot weather. The pores of the skin throw off many deleterious products which are harmful to the system. Relieved of "its impurities in this way, bright eyes and a clear complexion are the result. This can be achieved by drinking water in large quantities. There is a belief that water makes one fat. But it is really a fairy tale. Water should be drunk between meals. There is, then, no chance of losing fashion's slim outline. For those who delight in flavours, lemon and orange can be added to the water. They assist its efficacy as blood purifiers". Water is a great remover of wrinkles. A dried-up skin can be made to look fresher if its possessor will just drink a few glasses daily. All the tissues requirs water to help them to maintain a healthy balance in the organism. Without it they may become starved, shrivelled, and unable to perform their duties satisfactorily. Water is not only an internal aid towards the i hygiene of the skin. Through the baih fits value is further increased. The i pores of the skin need cleansing daily i owing to the impurities ..that pass •through them. When any of them are i. blocked unsightly spots and pimples may appear.
