MAORILAND THEATRE

A HIGH SCHOOL STORY. On Wednesday night at the Maoriland Theatre a unique film will be presented. The story of "High School Hero" deals with the love of two boys for the same girl and the bitter rivalry which"it causes in their school and athletic activities and shows in a vivid manner how serious the loves of youUi may be. But the rivalry between the two boys is clean cut and in the end they become fast friends when both are" brought face to face with the fact, that in their struggle for the girl's love they have neary sacrificed the prestige of their school. _ This brings about a realization of their folly and a satisfactory and unexpected ending to the picture.

FLIGHT PICTURES AND "LES

MISERABLES."

Two outstanding attractions are on the list.for Friday. The trans-Tasman flight of the Southern Cross is such recent history that everyone will be anxious to see the pictures of the arrival .and landing at Christehurch. These' pictures will be shown in conjunction with a mighty picturisation of Victor Hugo's epic masterpiece "Les Miserables." Heralded by the press of many nations; applauded and cheered by audiences from Europe to America; greeted with enthusiasm by dignitaries and ambassadors of State; "Les Miserables" is triumphantly presented to tke people as the most notable and 'distinguished film event in years. In one scene, giant stones are torn from the roads, carts overturned, furniture, anything, to make the great barricades where 5,000 people swarm over the silver sheet in the greatest battle scene ever caught by a camera!
