TRAINING ON BEER.
THOROUGHLY BAD SAYS SCULLER '(Sun Special)t LONDON, Sept. 25. Although the Oxford University crew always trains on beer, the boat club secietary, who was a member of the last crew, believes it is thoroughly bad for training. He has written to the Rev. Mr Weekes, temperande leader, saying that he and another,member of the crew were total abstainers, but that the remainder drank a pint and a half with meals. "It is merely a tradition," hc.saici. Oxford, which was beaten this year, has won 40 races against Cambridge's 39. There has been one dead heat.
