PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.
ANNUAL MEETING.
The annual meeting of the Shannon Presbyterian Church held on Wednesday night, was presided over by the the, Rev. Mr Bredin, of Palmerston North. Mrs Bredin and Mr and Mrs Sorensen of Palmerston, were also in attendance. The meeting was very well attended, those present including friends from Makerua. The business of the past year was received and showed the church to have made a very good increase, which was a token of a' more lively spirit, on the part of the*people. After the business had concluded the Rev. Bredin inducted into Mr Porter, and re-elected Mr J. Ryrie, who had been inducted many years ago. Mr Sorenson also took part in the induction service. Songs were rendered by Miss S. Quarrie and Miss Agnes Aim. Two ladies from Palmerston North (Mrs Bredin and Mrs Sorenson) spoke to the ladies present with the view of forming a branch of the P.W.M.U. ft-hich is under consideration. Tiie ladies of the Guild afterwards provided attractive refreshment all round.' In many ways this meeting was the best held' for many years, and it'is hoped .that the lively interest shown will make itself felt generally and that the good influence of church life will draw more and more to its ranks. A very hearty invitation is extended to all to join in fellowship at the services, held each Sunday at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. and conducted by the Rev. R. "Williamson.
