A TINNED REINDEER FACTORY
The reindeer provides excellent feeding for the inhabitants of the far North-west of Canada. They seem to thrive on it, and ,therc seems to be no reason therefore, why Britons should not “try their palate" at it. too. Prospects of reindeer supplies to Britain are at any rate opened up by the announcement that a packing and canning factory for reindeer is contemplated near new pastures between Great Slave .-Lake and Hudson's bay. A stretch of about 15,000 squaro miles lying east of the Mackenzie River delta, with ideal \ forage and Water, would provide sufficient grazing for aproximatcly 250,000 reindeer. The immediate importance of the discovery is that it will go far toward removing the long-standing difficulty of ensuring adequate food supplies for the Eskimos.
