OBITUARY.
MR BERT SPENCER.
It is with regret we announce the death of Mr Bertram Francis Spencer, .which took place at his home in Stafford Street at 10.30 last evening. The late Mr SpOneer had been ailing for some . tiine, but jjas able to follow his occupation as n carpenter rip till a fortnight aigo, when he was taken seriously ill,'necessitating his removal to the Palmerston North Hospital. He returned to his home on. Saturday, passing away as already stated. The deceased who was born in Wellington forty-two years ago,: received his education in . Wellington and Shannon, later' joining his father and brothers in the building trade, which lie followed up to the time of his late illness. He was held in the highest esteem by the community, being very popular among his friends. He was a prominent member of the loeal Bowling Club, being one of the Club’s best bowlers, while as a pianist his services were always willingly given for. social functions. The deceased was the second youngest son of Mr E. Spencer, a very old ’ resident of Shannon, lie was twice married, and besides his wife he leaves two daughters of his first marriage, who together. With his father, brothers and sisters, will have the deepest sympathy .of a wide circle of friends' itf; the great * JLhss they have sustained. i The funeral. wall leave Yen. Bede ’a >.
