TEN MILLION POUNDS SOL© ANNUALLY. * ■ CALCUTTA, July 11. The continued increase in the sale of imitation tea in India is viewed with eoncern by the tea trade and the Public Health authorities. Dealers in the South and on the West Coast of India and in the Punjab are alleged to be exploiting a common weed, which, when specially treated, resembles genuine tea and ia blended so skilfully as to deceive the consumer. It ia estimated that quite 10,000,0001 b. of the imitation is sold annually to the illiterate classes, and Goverament is urg-sd.
