ASTONISHES OVERSEAS BISHOPS (Published in The Times.) LONDON, July 14. "The Times" in a leading article on the Archbishop of Canterbury (Dr. Randall Davidson) says that as head of the Church in its Prayer Book debates, the Primate has been immovably and, just as endlessly, patient, friendly, and human; but his development of the Church in its wider relations is even more remarkable. Nobody can be compared with Dr. Davidson in his exact knowledge of Anglican affairs throughout the world. Bishops from Australia, Canada, and Japan are continually being astonished by his acquaintance with their problems. Simultaneously the Lambeth party became the centre of the Anglican Free Church gatherings, which/did much to bring the leaders of different bodies in closer contact, the paper adds.
