MODERN SCHOOL IN BERLIN
Berlin is building on its, outshskirts a school which will accommodate 3000. children, boys and girls, ; ,thC'children being admitted according to, their.abiiities, with' no regard to . the social standing of. their parents. The-;build-ings will have four stories. , In-.addi-tion to the many light, well-ventilated and roomy classrooms, there will be a number of rooms equipped with a view to the future calling of older scholars in which a large stafiE of competent teachers will be the instructors. Rooms where the children may do their "prep" undisturbed and.jrefeetories where they may partake of meals on the premises will also be provided. Playgrounds, swimming, baths, and. six gymnasia are attached to, the school, and special stress is to be laid .upon the beautifying of the -playgrounds, by borders of flowers and shrubs.
