ELDERLY WINNER’S PRIDE.
OCTOGENARIAN POSTMISTRESS,
The octogenarian postmistress of Aylestone, a little village near 1 Leicester, has won the village ; ankle championship against all comers'. It takes a. mature woman to be a Oompleat Ankler, it seems, for; she . was opposed by about 30 of ..the younger generation. For all her eighty years Mrs. Bray carries on her duties as postmistress, and she is well known locally as a past mistress at pranks. “Old, young, or middle-aged—let them come! I will show my ankles against anybody,” she, said after the event.
Mrs. Bray- is- 1 -keenly' interested in politics, and is’ a prom nent .member of the village Unionist Association. “I don’t feel my age, u**u *. believe in having a bit of fun when l..can get it,” she went on, it‘s ankles or .anything else. ” A neighbour said rliat sne was* the life and soul of the village,, and “always up to tricks.”
