HAPPY HOME WRECKED.
WEALTHY CO-RESPONDENT TO PAY £IO,OOO.
LONDON, July 11
Lord Merrivale, Lord Justice of Appeal, and a special jury in the Divorce Court granted to George Edgar Ingham, estate agent and surveyor, of Worcester, a decree nisi on the ground of the misconduct of his wife, Dora, with Captain Noel Pearson, of “The Birches,” Hagley, near Birmingham, against whom £IO,OOO damages were awarded. The judge said that the wife ultimately went off with the co-respond-ent, who was in a position to spend from £6OOO to £IO,OOO annually and to give her a jolly good time. The jury must consider carefully whether the wife had shown herself as worthless a woman as could be dreamed of. The husband had everything to look forward to in the way of a happy life, but the prospect was wholly wrecked by the corespondent’s abundant means, which attracted Mrs Ingham from the obvious path of duty, he said.
