LAST SATURDAY’S SENIo** RUGBY MATCH AWARDED TO SHANNON. •

As a result of including several members of Club in their team on Saturday, the Weraroa Club have been deprived by the Ilorowhenua Rugby Council of their win over Shannon, -whom they sensationally defeated by 27 points to 6. At the meeting of the Council’s management committee on Tuesday, the irregularity, was duly reported, and a resolution was passed awarding the game to Shannon. “People may think that these players can Re protested against in later games,” said the chairman. ‘‘They cannot. We have to award the match to Shannon.” In. consequence, of the above decision, although the places of the teams on the ladder are not altered, Shannon’s championship points become eleven —one below Wanderers, the leading club.
