TESTS WITH FERTILISERS
CLAIMS OF MORBDSSVILLE. A matter of general interest to farmers, the question of conducting experiments to ascertain the correct manures to use, was considered by the Morrins--ville branch of the New Zealand Farm'; crs' Union. Mr Barrowclough said it had been announced that experiments were to be carried out in the Waikato by the Massey Agricultural College and he urged that the authorities be written to'Stressing the suitability of Morrinsville as a locality to carry out the experiment. Manuring was now a big itcan in farming and heavy expenditure was involved. There were many problems yet to be solved in manure mixtures and the correct rotation to employ* ' ' -• Mr. Seifcrt said these experiments had never been carried out before'* in this locality. In the Morrinsville district many thousands of pounds were spent annually on manuring yet the Government had not" made a move to see that it was carried out properly and in the best interests of farming. Morrinsville was p.robably the best district in New Zealand for the carrying out bf as there were thousands of acres of the same class of country over which the same conditions applied. * : lit was decided that these facts be placed, before the authorities of Massey College and that they be requested to act on the lines suggested.
