NITRATE OF SODA
Recent commercial reports from Chili indicate an increasing prosperity in that .country, one of the factors of which is found in the improved conditions in the nitrate industry. According to the "American Fertiliser," synthetic nitrogen, which is being produced in constantly increasing quantities will not drive the Chilian nitrate from the market. As the price drops enlarged markets will open, and much more agricultural nitrogen will be used throughout the world. In the face of the new-competition, production methods in Chili are being modernised and
the cost of refining the crude nitrate will be substantially reduced within the next few- years.
