BUCKLEY DRAINAGE BOARD.
At a meeting of the Trustees of the Buckley Drainage Board held at Shannon yesterday, a letter was received from the Engineer, Mr Hay that he had forwarded plans, specifications and estimates of the Koputaroa banking project, to the District Engineer, Wellington, and had also written the District Engineer, N.Z. Railways, for approval to link up the' stop banks with the railway embankment, at the formation level.* A letter was also received from the District Engineer stating that the proposals for the banking of the Koputaroa stream had been dealt with. The Clerk reported that three objections had been received to the raising of the £IOOO loan.—lt was resolved that the objections be forwarded to Wellington. As the Loans Board meet at Wellington on Wednesday it is anticipated some finality will be reached in respect to the £IOOO loan. The Clerk reported that in conneetioii with the Public Works' subsidy for unemployed in regard to this scheme, no further advice has been received.
