THE ELECTION ROLLS.
The" work of ' compiling the genera! rolls Js now proceeding. The electoral law-provides that in the year of a general election the general roll shall be closed at a date to bo fixed by the Governor-General-in-Council, and after that date no name shall be added to the general roll of any district until affor the goncral election. Applications for registration received after the. closing date form the basis of a supplementary roll. As the result of adjustments, the following are the numbers on the,rolls of the following constituencies as at May 30th:— .
