The All Blacks played the 7th match of their tour to-day, meeting "Western Transvaal at Potshef- ! stroom. New Zealand gave a brilliant exhibition of back play. The All Blacks scor- | ed five tries (two converted) to a | converted tiy and' a penalty goal. In the first spell the visitors gained two to one in possession from the scrums, and, the backs making good use of their opportunities, many times came within an ace of scoring. Lucas was the first to score, after a spectacular movement, and soon, after a combined back and forward onslaught, Hore dived over. Another try came before half-time, M. Brownlie picking up after Kilby had dropped the ball when attempting to cut through, and crossing the line. None of these three tries was converted. Soon after the resumption of the game, a movement in which- most of the backs and M. Brownlie, Finlayson, Stewart and Alley participated, ended in the .last-named side-stepping the opposing full-back, to score under the posts. . Nicholls converted. Another fine attack, in which Stewart fended off two men and ran behind the posts, was nullified when it was discovered- that the line umpire's flagwas hoisted at half-way. De" Wet now kicked a penalty goal for the home team, and West Transvaal showed a patch of brightness; but New Zealand came again, the ball travelling from one -side of the field to 'the other, unt,il Lucas scored -under the posts, Nicholls converting. Just on the call of time, the Transvaal backs caught New -Zealand napping. Hesse ran over the corner, Dc Wet .converting. SUMMARY OF RESULTS. The All Blacks have now Avon five matches out of seven.
