PROPOSAL TO RE-MODEL SCHOOL.
The secretary of the Shannon School Committee lias received from the Education Board a blue print of the proposed re-modelling off the Shannon School building, which shows that the original class room known as the “dungeon” is to be demolished, the .class room at the west end is to be extended and divided into two rooms, a new teacher’s room will be added, provision also being made for wash-basins and ■fireplaces. The Board’s secretary states that should the grant be passed the v.-.ovk will be pushed on with iin'n:rdin + ' ly. This is good news _ for both the present and past committees, as the latter for the past four years [have fought liavd ‘to have this work put into effect, the health authorities having condemned the old class room, which has been in nee about 40 years, some four or five, years ago.
