PROGRESS OF LEVIN BRANCH. .The monthly meeting of the Levin Plunket Society was held in the De Luxe Lounge on Monday, June 11th, there being present: Mesdames Hobson On the chair), T. Bevan, Thompson, Park, Goldsmith, Davie, Thomson, O’Connor, Keedwell, Bartholomew, Clark and Smaill. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames : Denton, Pirani, Percy, M. Ryder, Miss MeKegg. , , . , „ ; Before commencing the business ot ; the meeting, the President welcomed ■ the new committee members. The nurse’s report tor the month was as follows:—Visits to homes in Levin, 28 ; adults, visitors to rooms 1 , 160; babies, 104; older children, 18; visits to homes in Shannon, 13; adults, visitors to rooms, 71; babies, 55; older children, 14. Total number cf visits to homes, 41; visitors to rooms 422. Subscriptions were received during the month from the following:—Mesdames Hobson and Smaill £1 Is, Mrs W. Davie 10s, Mesdames Alloway, Den-} ton, P. Arcus, T. Bevan, D. J. Thomson, W. S. Park, Goldsmith, J. J; Thompson, Hamilton, Kilsby, - and Miss Ivy Middlemiss 5s each. The committee decided to collect tin-, foil, and collecting boxes will be disi tributed about the district. This is a form of contribution within the means of even the youngest child who buys a cake of chocolate, and if all would cultivate the habit of saving the silverpaper it would not be long before the Society’s funds would be increased bv quite a considerable sum. A shop day in aid of the Plunket funds is being arranged for Tuesday, July 3rd.
