MAORILAND THEATRE.

JOHNNY HINES AGAIN. "White Pants Willie," is a screen adaptation of the serial story of the same name by the humorist, Elmer Davis. It will be screened on Wednesday night. A splendid cast of players appear in support of Johnny Hines, with Leila Hyams playing the leading feminine role. "White Pants Willie" is said to abound in humorous sequences, one of the most hilarious being a fast polo match played by crack players with the comedian, being mistaken for a polo champion, thrust into the game and forced to win or lose the girl. Naturally the comedian's white pants plan an important role and supply moments of genuine humor, starting the picture off with a gale of laughter that doesn't cease until the final fade-out.

"ZANDER THE GREAT." "Zander the Great," the famous Broadway stage success which has been adapted to the screen by Frauces Marion, and which stars Marion Davies in a modern role, will be shown at the local theatre on Friday. Seldom has Miss Davies been so admirably cast as in the role of the whimsical yet humorous Irish heroine of "Zander the Great." The quickmoving story keeps pace with the daring doings of mysterious ranchers, bandits, and moonshiners who clash in the sweeping spaces of the Mojave Desert. With Harrison Ford, Holbrook Blinn, Hobart Bosworth, Harry Myers and others in the cast, "Zander the Great*' is carried along dramatically with many humorous touches to relieve its intensity. George Hill directed.
