APPLICATIONS FOR BUILDING PERMITS.

REFERRED BACK FOR FURTHER DETAILS. Two applications for permits to erect dwellings were received at the Council meeting on Tuesday evening. The Building Committee recommended that the specifications be referred back for further details. Cr Spencer stated that the specifications were too vague, the Building Committee requiring a specification showing the classes of timber to be used, height of stud, and the sizes and spacing of the timber. It was also noticed that in some cases the erection of a new building or addition or alteration was being commenced prior to the permit for same being granted, and it was time the Council took a definite stand regarding this matter. The Council were in accord with the recommendations, and in future any specifications not complying with the above information will not be passed.
